Recently I had the opportunity to travel to Peru with my daughter. For an unforgettable two weeks we trekked the Cachicata (Inca Quarry) Trail, ascended to the famous Machu Picchu, climbed to a breathtaking 5,000m to see Vinicunca (Rainbow Mountain), as well as visiting Humantay Lake and other incredible sites.
What made this trip even more amazing is that we did it all with Intrepid Travel, a certified B Corp like Lonsdale Solutions. B Corps are purpose-driven companies that commit to doing business in a way that benefits their employees, the community, and the environment in which they operate.
This trip combined my passion for travel, environment sustainability, and bettering local communities. My daughter and I immersed ourselves in the local Peruvian lifestyle and personally contributed to local Intrepid-sponsored projects. A highlight was visiting a café in Urubamba that provides job training and employment for single mothers in the Sacred Valley region. Purchasing from and donating to this initiative was a reminder that small actions can make a meaningful difference.
Just as I can create positive change globally through the joy of travel, I’m proud to be able to do the same as a member of the outstanding Lonsdale Solutions team. Since becoming a certified B Corp in 2021, we’ve extended our impact locally, by sponsoring community events and supporting charities like Berry Street, which help vulnerable people in our community.
